Location at 68°N in Finnish Lapland adds new dimension to the network
Finnish ground station services provider NorthBase and Infostellar, a leading provider of Ground Segment as a Service (GsaaS) services headquartered in Tokyo, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with which the companies are engaging in strategic level co-operation in sales and marketing of ground station services and agreeing on the flexible use of their ground station assets.
At the crux of the co-operation is StellarStation cloud platform, virtualizing ground station networks and thus allowing satellite operators to access ground stations from various service providers through a unified interface. StellarStation simplifies ground station access – after a one-time setup per mission, operators can access any ground station within the Infostellar network.
Adding NorthBase assets in Finland to Infostellar’s ground station network gives a great new location to the users of StellarStation. NorthBase Muonio site offers services on S and X bands at 68 degrees northern latitude, providing exceptional visibility to polar orbit satellites. The site offers GSaaS as well as antenna hosting with high grade infrastructure and security arrangements.
